Minutes from the meeting of the Parks and Open Spaces sub-commt.
Tuesday 9th. February 2010
Present – Keith S., Keith A., Beth, Carol, Colin, Lesley and Eyall, Robin the park keeper.
Recreation Ground – the Council have invested in the park and it now has Green Flag status. But they are now cutting jobs. We seek assurances that the park will continue to be maintained to its present high standard. We would prefer dedicated staff not contractors.
Action point – contact council officers, local councillors and Cabinet member for the environment and invite to next CWRA meeting.
Wandle Park - maintenance of booms and reed beds.

Pocket Park – needs tidy up -

Myrna Close – next tidy up -10 to 12.30 on Sunday 21st. March.
Wandle Meadow Nature Park – litter, rubbish and fly-tipping and bins.

woodland maintenance in Wandle Park on Sunday 7th. March from 10 to 12
“Sporting Olympiad” in the Recreation Ground on Sunday 2nd. May from 10 to 1 with Little League Football, basketball coaching, tennis coaching, badminton and table tennis.
and a community picnic as part of the Wandle Valley Festival in Wandle Park on Sunday 6th. June from 12 to 6.

planting daffodils and snowdrops next to the Memorial Garden.
Making and installing bird-boxes.

at the Colliers Wood Community Centre.
